d’Arenberg 酒莊歷史

Joseph Osborn , 酒莊的創辦人.在1912年的Mclaren Vale購買了25ha的葡萄園,成就了傳奇的酒業.當時Mclaren Vale這個名字還未出現,葡萄園位處於當時Gloucester and Bellevue城巿以北,可見Joseph Osborn看到這塊土地的潛力,Mclaren Vale百年之後成為名星酒莊的出產地.

在1928年前葡萄園的出產都是售於巿場或其他釀酒商,在Joseph Osborn的兒子 Francis Ernest 的推動下在1928年才建設了釀酒工場,釀造的是蒸餾酒,主要售往歐洲等地.1943年是酒莊的關鍵時刻,第三代傳人Francis d’Arenberg Osborn在少年時代已對葡萄酒十分感興趣,在16歲課餘時已經參與釀造工作,在1959年正式接手時,便成立了今天的d’Arenberg , 就是他的家族名字.

Francis d’Arenberg Osborn的時代的紅酒已獲得無數的獎項,如The Jimmy Watson Trophy,Royal Melbourne Wine Show 1969,
在1984年第四代傳人Chester Osborn接任後就更上一層樓,1999年Chester Osborn獲得雜誌Winestate最佳釀酒師的獎項
而美國Wine and Spirits選出全球最佳70間酒莊中,d’Arenberg是其中一間.

d’Arenberg的酒款眾多,酒莊的最高級別是The Dead Arm.
